ABA Overview

ABA involves a level of intensive individual instruction which, unfortunately, even the most well-meaning and dedicated larger facilities may be unable to provide. We utilize an ABA format which has clearly demonstrated success with persons on the autism spectrum, especially when administered early and intensively. This method promotes motivation using positive reinforcement and uses a systematic approach which builds mastery of one task at a time, requiring 100% mastery before graduating to the next task.

The Surgeon General of the USA on ABA

Unfortunately, autism is very much on the rise.  Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) affect 1 in 88 children in the US, 1 in 54 if you are a boy;1. Because of this, chances are someone you know or love will be affected by this disorder either now or in the future AND according to the US Surgeon General, 1999, “Thirty years of research demonstrated the efficacy of applied behavioral methods in reducing inappropriate behavior and in increasing communication, learning, and appropriate social behavior”. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the treatment of choice for Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is also a highly effective intervention for some types of related developmental disorders.
